Holy Week and Easter 2015

Wednesday, April 1, 2015, 5:30 pm– Walk the Way of the Cross as we pray the ancient liturgy of Station of the Cross.  There are 14 “stations,” each corresponding to an event as Jesus moves from his trial to his burial.  Some are biblical, others are traditional.  All enable us to pray and meditate and deepen our love of Our Lord.

Thursday, April 2, 2015, 7 pm–Maundy Thursday liturgy.  This is the day that we remember when Jesus gave a New Commandment that we love one another as he loves us.  Jesus demonstrated what that commandment meant by washing his disciples’ feet.  It is also the day that Jesus shared a Holy Meal of bread and wine and commanded us to continue to share His Body and Blood with one another when we gather.  Those who attend may share Holy Eucharist and foot washing.

Thursday night through Friday noon–The church is open for prayer and meditation.  The Body and Blood of Christ are reserved in a garden-like place where you may sit or kneel silently.  Jesus said to his disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane, just before he was betrayed: “Watch and pray.”

Friday, April 3, 2015, 7 pm–Good Friday Liturgy with communion from the reserve sacrament

Sunday, April 5, 2015, 10 am–Festival Eucharist celebrating the Resurrection of Our Lord.  Bring a bell to ring joyously, if you wish, when we proclaim the first Alleluia of Easter.
